Chorleywood golf course tree surgery

Day 2 at Chorleywood golf course, more pruning of the oaks in the common.

The trees have started to encroach onto the fairways and T areas so as part of the courses budget we tackled some of the main culprits!

Just a few photos from todays work.

Tree surgery at Chorleywood common golf course

Day 1 at Chorleywood common golf course. We reduced a few oak trees over one of the courses greens.

The lateral branches were becoming long and overhanging, the tops were also pruned to hopefully let more natural light on the area.

Woodchip and cordwood to stay on site.

Silver Birch pruning

Reduction of lateral growth spread and reshaping of height to tie in with the existing canopies.

The two Silver Birch trees (Betula pendula) were encroaching towards the adjacent apartments and needed pruning to allow natural light into the properties.

Large mature Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) structural crown reduction

Large mature Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) structural crown reduction by 2•5 – 3m to support future development. This tree was certainly a big one lots of wood to haul away and lots of climbing to be done! One of our last big jobs for the year, but it was a good one.

Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) crown thin

Nice little crown thin on a Pedunculate oak (Quercus robur) today.

Crown thinning your trees will allow light and wind to travel more freely through the canopies, it will alleviate weight and stress from the branches without affecting the overall shape of the original crown.

On to the neighbours trees next
